Frequently asked questions

What is RELATE?

RELATE is an educational relationship strengths assessment. It helps you reflect on constructive patterns you bring to close romantic relationships and gives you language for further growth.

How does it work?

You respond to 72 statements on a five-point scale. RELATE scores 18 strengths across six domains, reveals your Top Five first, and then lets you explore the full profile.

How long does it take?

Most people can complete the assessment in approximately 10–15 minutes. Your progress is saved to your RELATE account so you can return later.

Is RELATE therapy or a clinical test?

No. RELATE is an educational pilot and self-reflection tool. It does not diagnose, predict relationship success, determine compatibility, or replace professional care.

Can both partners take it?

Yes. Partners can take the assessment separately using their own accounts, then use their results to begin a respectful conversation. RELATE does not combine or compare partner scores automatically.

Are lower-ranked strengths weaknesses?

No. Positions 6–18 are supporting or situational strengths. A lower ranking does not mean a flaw, and a high ranking does not make a behavior healthy in every situation.

Are my responses saved?

Yes. Your name, email, protected password, responses, and progress are connected to your RELATE account so you can continue across devices. See the Privacy page for details.

What if I am in an unsafe relationship?

An assessment cannot make an unsafe relationship safe. A strength label never excuses control, coercion, cruelty, betrayal, or violence. Seek trusted local or professional support when safety is a concern.
